I would say as long as all their molars have come in, and they don't have a problem eating other foods, sure! I gave my kids popcorn at that age. My youngest still LOVES popcorn and he's 8. The only problem I can forsee is having the kernels get stuck between his teeth. It's rather hard to get a 2 year old to sit still long enough to floss their teeth.

It would be best to avoid this food. The child could choke on the kernels even if they are fully popped.

If the child really enjoys popcorn, pick through the popped corn and pull out ALL unpopped kernels. Or give the child just the soft white part (picked off the kernel skin).

But easiest way is to just avoid the food for now.

I let my sons eat popcorn at that age, but i first removed all the husk remnants and had nothing but the fluffy part for them to eat. That part basically dissolves in their mouth and wont get stuck in their throat and i don't have to worry about trying to remove the husks from under their gums when they brush their teeth.

my son has been eating popcorn since he was 1. i never thought about it until i seen an article about it being dangerous. i think it is ok though if you are keeping an eye over that child. my son has never had any problems.

Absolutely!! If you keep a close eye on them to make sure they chew it up completely, then there is no problem. Also popcorn is a great source of fiber, so its very good for them too!!

It isn't recomended until they are three. Reason? Just like adults kids can choke on popcorn. For my son I just take the part we tend to choke on off then give it to him.

I gave my younger children popcorn, but I only gave them the white... any part of seed attached I would tear off. I knew how much they loved it but I was deathly afraid of them choking.
