AND ONE GOES ON THE ATTACK!! ohh and for your comment-- no amount of scientific research can prove a higher power. but it doesnt need to. you feel it and know it with every blessing.

ummm i dont feel threatened by anyone. i know the majority of people accept something more. its just the 10% of nutcases that kinda bug me. looks like theyre all here lol.

this room has proven my point for me! they want something more so they constantly try to convince themselves with scientific facts!

ur wrong weemary. my arguments are the best out there because theyre the truth. i know what i know about religion and dont always agree with the bible. its just that the premise of something more is too big to ignore. i think you need to fix YOUR argument.

hey scout, im sorry to tell you, but you cant be fully fulfilled without God. im sorry but thats the truth. stop with the "man made it up junk" i could just as easilly tell you that man made up atheism. and ide be right. and stop acting like you're so happy to be one. i can tell just by what you say that you are trying to convince urself of something. and you know its wrong because people have souls. to deny that is to deny any real beauty on this God given planet. and thats the truth. hopefully you accept that but u will probably go on with YOUR manmade "beliefs".

Hey, I am an athiest and once believed in christianity until I realized it was man-made and wrong. I also freely criticize christianity or any other religion, because if you can criticize me and my beliefs I have the same right to criticize yours.
There is none of that "deep down I want to accept something" bull. I am free of the reins of man-made religion, and love it. I believe in being respectful to people, honesty, integrity, and doing what is right. Most people think I am very religious for my values and the way I am considerate. A lot of so-called christians I know preach they are christians but certainly don't live christian lives as is taught in their bible. I don't go on the attack because I am seeking something profound to live my life by, I don't know why you think you can judge anyone who does not believe the way you do. I don't judge religious people, I just say their religion has no true basis in fact other than it was something cobbled up from older religions and regurgitated by some old elders somewhere back in time.

nicely, the ingredient is, i'm conscious that I have doubts, so the atheists "attacking" Christians doesn't worry me in any respect. as a remember of reality, i love it. yet except that, commonly speaking, i trust you could nicely be precise. There are exceptions, for sure, yet for the most section...convinced. Edit: I also consider John F to an volume. non secular human beings many times won't be able to imagine someone no longer believing in God until eventually they have been an atheist. An atheist won't be able to imagine someone believing in God...even if in the journey that they were raised with a faith.

Ofcourse we attack christian beliefs (at least I do). Just as christians attack all non-christian beliefs.

Deep down inside I do want to believe in a god. I think most atheists would admit that. Belief in god is a very comforting thing. I know, I used to believe.

The reason I don't believe, and most other atheists don't believe, is because what we need to believe doesn't exist. There is not sufficient proof for us to believe.

And as we can't just lie to ourselves and pretend to believe, we are waiting for the evidence to be found, or for a theist to present something concrete.

Consider it from our perspective. Could you just start lying to yourself ans start believing in Zeus? Wouldn't you need some damn good evidence before you even considered zeus' existence possible?

Edit:

At first I thought this was a serious question worthy of the time I took to elaborate our position. Now after reading your follow up details I find that you are just another worthless troll.

It's the internet, not a tea party. Grow a thicker skin or go play somewhere else.

If you think you're being attacked, don't sit and whine about the attackers -- fight back. Learn better arguments, learn how to defend your beliefs -- hell, learn exactly what it is that you believe first (something that a lot of godders fail to do) and then maybe we'll have something to talk about. But don't complain "oh, the other guys just slag me all the time." That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee.

Some atheists do attack Christian beliefs, some don't. But your "logic" is rather like making the claim that a person who disputes the validity of alien abductions really, deep down, wants to be kidnapped by an extra-terrestrial.

Most of the athiests I actually know just want to be left alone and have better things to do with their time than Christian-baiting.

That said, I think the ones who do Christian-bait are mostly church refugees who still have a bone to pick. The ones who aren't don't really care that much.

What do you expect us to do when you make up lies to make yourselves feel less threatened by us?? Youve just judged us, assumed facts not in evidence, and embarrassed yourself...and you do this in the name of your God? He must be so proud to have you as a follower!

You dont honestly think that the reason I attack Christians is because I fear you, do you? I dont fear you - I fear the fact that you are attempting to make you BELEIFS into LAWS...thats some scary shyte mon! (jamiacan accent...)

Please provide reliable, empirical evidence supporting your assertions. If you are unable to do so, then it should be ascertained that you are merely stating opinion, and not testable fact or theory.

Edit: Your comments are not only unsupported, but very patronizing. You cannot supply evidence for your claims, and yet you continue to assert that atheists "hide behind science because they feel something missing." You also cannot provide evidence that we "feel something missing," and yet you continue to make this comment, all the while insinuating that we are attacking your beliefs. Clearly, you are intolerant, hypocritical and irrational, and thus I do not believe that you will have anything of any insight or intelligence to say. I will not return to this question, and I would advise all other logical thinkers to follow this example.

If you're gonna go on tv, go to rallies, and stand in the pull-pit attacking other peoples' beliefs (atheists, agnostics, etc.); you're going to face counter-attacks from time to time.
