I'd have to agree with others- Steak n' Shake is THE best. They have a wide variety, as they're partially devoted to shakes. Also, the chicken there is good, better than that of Wendy's, McDonalds, or Burger King (IMHO) (Though Burger King makes an awesome Chicken Sandwich.... mmmm...), and their fries... mmh-hmm! I love their cheese fries... though however good all this looks- take a look at Subway or some other low fat restaraunt every once and awhile. Another note- about Jack-in-the-Box, I heard there was this whole food poisoning incident- happened with a bunch of kids who ate the burgers one certain day. I heard it was REEEEALLY bad food poisoning. Don't go there. They don't have that good of food there anyway. (IMO)

I would have to say Cook-Out.. There shakes are awesome! The best fast food shakes I have ever had. =) But I think it is a regional fast food chain - so then I would have to say Sonic - and then McDonalds.

Here in NM it's Blake's Lotaburger (a NM franchise) for me, but Sonic also makes some good ones.

Steak and Shake has the best shakes to me. I will actually drive out of my way to find one if I am in the mood for a shake.

My favorite is Dairy Queen strawberry shakes when the strawberries are so big you can barely suck them up the straw and the shake is so thick it holds the straw upright.
