I've had my dog for about a year now and she still won't use he potty pads when I'm not home. The funny thing is that when I'm at my boyfriends apartment she'll hold it until I walk her. But I my house she'll go anywhere she wants, mainly the hallway by my mom's bedroom. Can anyone help with some ideas?

Put the potty pads where the dog goes the most, I had probably 20 of them around the house for my dogs when I was training him and it seemed to work for me,. My dog is a house dog and I let him out often also and now when he has to go he scratches on the screen to go out, he is 2 years old and no accidents for over a year.

Buy a crate that is just about big enough for her to turn around and stand up in. Not enough room for her to potty at one end and move to the other. Dogs will not sit or lay in there own waste. Keep her in the crate when you are not home. Sometimes you can let her out of the crate after awhile and she will be potty trained. Sometimes she will just go back to going in the house after you let her out. You have to see how it goes. Crates are not cruel. Usually after a dog is in one awhile they become attached to it and go there on there own. You can also cover the crate with a blanket/towel etc. Some dogs like this. Please try this, it works.

Sure you can!
Throw the pads away, clean the potty smell out of the hall. and start taking your pup for a walk just like you do at your B/Fs house

Stop & think about it, when you use those pads, what are you teaching the dog???? That it is OK to potty in the house perhaps?????

I just potty trained my dog and I know what you mean, she went wherever she wanted too as well. What i did, was: everytime she went #2 I would put it in one spot (Potty pads, newspaper etc.) and then she goes in that spot everytime! ( after 2 or 3 times)
