since humans are soo developed, we can think for ourselves and speak and are very intelligent creatures, then my question is this

if evolution really happens then there would be other creatures that are just as developed as us, like we would be able to catch conversations between elephants and all other creatures, because surely if we are getting more and more developed then so are they ,
right?

ya'll can tell me what a silly ques. this and stuff but none of u can give the ans. so basically if there isn't a God that made everything and we were all made from "mother nature" then we would all be the same or speak the same language or something because u can't for instance mix 2 ingredients and make humans and then mix the same 2 ingredients and make lets say and elephant, no the same 2 ingredients are going to make the same thing.
and if we evolved from monkeys then we surely would be able to communicate with them, as a matter a fact if we evolved from apes then we should be the ones in the zoo and ....
they should be the ones making this world run
right

I wonder why people say you don't know what you're talking about, but won't offer the correct information. Surely if they know the truth they would share it, right???

"if evolution really happens then there would be other creatures that are just as developed as us, like we would be able to catch conversations between elephants and all other creatures, because surely if we are getting more and more developed then so are they ,
right?"

You're making the assumption that the most advanced creatures have to be the most intelligent. Your assumption is flawed. The cockroach was here hundreds of millions of years before mankind. And it will probably be here for hundreds of millions of years after we're gone. And in that entire period, it will have evolved/changed little.

The reason why is because it's so perfectly suited to almost any kind of environment this planet can throw at it.

Honestly, what has intelligence done for mankind? It's given us the ability to nuke this planet so bad that the only things that would survive is bacteria and cockroaches. lol. Yay for intelligence! We spend billions so that our best scientists can constantly change antibiotic formulas to combat the bacteria that, without a single brain cell, keep evolving and becoming immune to our standard antibiotics.

Intelligence is over rated.

Just because the answers here are not satisfactory to you does it justify your logic.

At the same time, you must pose a question that is actually based on intelligence and knowledge of the subject.

You have neither.

Have you ever thought that maybe there are other creatures on this planet that may be as developed as us in terms of intelligence? Do you know that dolphins are rather intelligent, as are elephants? Doesn't mean we can figure out their languages. We do know how they communicate and have a general idea of their habits and behaviours. But that's neither here nor there.

Also, just because the answers provided are not satisfactory to you does not automatically justify the existence of god. Again, your lack of knowledge on the subject is suspect. Do you really know what you're talking about, let alone asking?

What's this about ingredients and whatever? We're not cakes.

You know what - just go back to your Ready-Bake Oven set and Barbies.

We're done here.

we being so developed doesnt mean we fit every niche. Do you find humans liviing in the sewers where cockroaches are crawling? Do you live on trees where birds live?

Secondly, we cant even understand other humans that speak other languages. Why is this? because living in America, we speak english. There is no evolutionary advantage for us to learn Turkish here when everyone else speaks English. Just like that, what is the evolutionary advantage of animals knowing how to listen to other animals? A gazelle saw a lion, it would run rather than straining its ear and listen to what the lion wanted. At the same time, the lion does not want to converse in fear of scaring away his dinner.

Thirdly, your statement is not scientific at all. Just using logic is not enough...when you come up with a testable hypothesis that goes on to disprove evolution, come back then to make claims against evolution. There are tons of field experients that support evolution.

Evolution (natural selection) works by keeping what is good enough and killing off everything else. Dinosaurs are a good example. They were the the predominant (large) animals for millions of years but died off when their environment changed. The dinosaurs could not adapt quickly enough to make the transition. Mammals were adaptable and survived. It doesn't mean that mammals were better developed; the mammals could adapt to the new conditions better than the dinosaurs could.

Another example is a cockroach. They are VERY primitive but have managed to survive for hundreds of millions of years and have changed very little. Bigger, more advanced life forms died off because they couldn't adapt the the changing conditions.

A facetious example would be that of a talking dinosaur. The talking dinosaur must be smart because it developed speech. But it might not survive when the temperature changes or when it's food supply dies off. Speech does not guarantee survival. Adaptability is more important than intelligence. An animal that can switch from eating leaves to eating cockraches might survive when the food disappears. Animals that cannot make the switch have no chance and will die off when the food does. You would never get to converse with the talking dinosaur because it could not adapt.

No. That is not right. Evolution does not gaurantee that every species will evolve the same way. In fact it gaurantees the opposite!

Elephants and other creatures may well as be as developed as us, they are extremely good at adapting to their enviroment, finding food, and staying alive. They just happen to have evolved a different level of intelligence than us.

There is also a possibility that other semi-intelligent forms of life did evolve alongside us, and we wiped them out. We have a knack for that after all....

That's an interesting question. Science is in fact discovering that non-human animals are a lot smarter than we ever realized. One important quality that separates humans from other creatures is language. Now we are learning that certain other animals besides ourselves have complex ways of communicating with one another, from wild birds to dolphins, to dogs and even insects. If we're really as smart as we think we are, we will be able to figure out the language of animals eventually and better understand our commonality with other creatures. Half of communication is the ability to listen and comprehend.

Everything is evolving slowly, it doesn't happen over a span of years it takes thousands of years to evolve. And even then since it was so slow we would never notice it, If you go back and look at old elephant skeletons then you would see a difference between the ones then and now. And animals do communicate they just have a different language then we do, just b/c there language is different from ours does not mean that they do not have one.

So what you're saying is, that Evolution is a process that eventually leads to higher intelligence? That's an interesting idea, but it's not what Darwin said, and it's not what Evolution is at all.

I'll sum it up, again:
1. All animals and plants have more offspring than they need to.
2. Not all of those offspring will make it.
3. The ones who do make it (i.e. produce their own offspring), tend to be better adapted to the environment. This quality is genetic and will be passed on to their offspring.

That's it. Nothing about intelligence, philosophy or meaning of life. We're smart because we had to be, in order to survive. Chimpanzees (or rather, their ancestors) stayed in the relative safety of the forest and didn't have to develop their brain.

READ!!! THIS IS THE ANSWER: look in the mirror! What do you see? Do you see a killing machine? Do you see anything on you that can bring down big game like the time man first walked on the Earth? We are weak... but, just our luck, we started using tools... and so, we found something we could use to kill and survive, so we evolved so we can use those tools better and make better tools... why arn't monkeys on horses now? Bcz they didn't use their tools 2 kill big animals, actually, not even medium sized creatures... plus, they found what they are good at already... it's called natural selection... only the best live to see another day... we became strong... this Q is soooo stupid :-w

Regina - you may want to stick to making analogies in your Bible, cuz this is about the most ridiculous one to date...

You are, again, making a folly that man made in the 18th century. that is, to beleive that evolution is a ladder that only leads UPWARDS towards intelligence. This is not so. Therefore, we will not be able to evolve into listening to elephants conversations, nor will elephants ever develop the ability to speak humanese.....

This attempt at being clever - you should turn that energy into something useful, such as attempting to understand why you beleive in the myth of God.
