It is a cremation and the ringtone is great balls of fire

Every funeral at our church has at least one cell phone ring go off. Ditto for weddings and most Sunday services. I'm the organist, right on the altar, and it's kinda fun to look up and see whose phone it is without even having to turn around. Most people shut it off quickly, but I saw a best man at a wedding actually answer it once.

Go over to the funeral home owner and sign yourself up for the next one.

Be one of those idiots that answer it, look around to see all the attention and feeling of importance they received, and actually have a conversation about nothing away from everyone else, showing that you in fact value nothing more than a deceased human being.

Don't take it personally; I only meant it as a suggestion.

Turn it off. It's a funeral. Cellphones should be switched to vibrate or turned off during funerals.

Turn it off, cover face in shame and utter humiliation for allowing such a dastardly thing to happen!

(Of course, it won't happen to me, because I am a creature of habit about turning off my phone when required).

Switch it off. That's what people do in church, and I would assume it would apply to a funeral.

when one enters a public place:
funeral
wedding
restaurant
hospital
nursing home
etc. it is proper etiquette to either silence the ring or shut the phone off completely!

I guess leap up on the piano or organ and do a wild Jerry Lee Lewis spoof?

Answer with one of these"

1. "Yes grandma"

2. "Hi Mom"

3. "THIS IS JACK BAUER, WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR?"

4. "Yes sir, mister President."

Or you could just hit the hang up button after the first ring. You lose style points if you let it ring more than once.

Well, probably silence it.

And then be utterly embarrassed.

But, it would be alot easier just to turn it off, or put it on vibrate BEFORE you got there.
