My hair is shoulder length, extremely thick, poofy to the max, and wavy on top of all that. I need help maintaining it. I really want it to be smooth, frizz-less, and straight without alot of work. Does anyone know of any products that might help, or styling tools?

First of all wlecome to the club of bad hair.... I am right there with you. I use Aussie products, they seem to do the most work with the less attention. They are also not alot of money if you know where to shop. As far as your wavyness try a hair straightner. You may have to put a little bit of money into that thou to get the right look, don't go cheap you will regret you did. Second don't try to do anything with your hair straight out of the shower.... bad idea. Instead if you know you have plans either shower the night before or a couple of hours before let the air dry your hair not a blow dryer, you will have better results. As far as your thickness when you get your hair cut tell them to thin it out... some not alot... it will give you less to deal with all over the place. Well girl I hope I have helped and I hope I didn't leave anything out. Good luck and welcome to the bad hair club.

I suggest using L'Oreal Studioline Hot Straight Straightening creme and getting a Solia Hair straighter (folica.com). The hair straightening creme makes your hair silky, gets rid of frizz, protects your hair from heat, and improves straightening (seriously, I use this stuff everyday it is AMAZING. My hair is so soft and tangle free that brushing it seriously makes no difference from not brushing it ._.) As for the Solia hair straightener, it's a bit expensive, but lasts for a long time, and won't burn your hair easily either. Plus, it straightens hair fast and doesn't take a lot of work. Good luck :)

thats kinda the way my hair looked a long time ago but what i did to minimize the frizz and the extreme thickness i went to an asian salon and asked for them to thin it out and sort of layer it and i bought a "CHI" flat iron it's soooo magical i only have to do my hair like once a wk for school ! i think tony and guy would give u a nice thinning on that hair and you can look really good with out that much trouble !

I agree. The most important tool is a good straightener. The best I know of is called Chi.

most of all get a good hair straightener. some can run 100-200 dollars, but they are well worth it. look for porcelain plated straighteners. they work great. i have thick hair also and mine becomes straight in 5 minutes. its great!

i have a chi straightener, and it really does work wonders! I also have a leave in conditioner for the sleek part =). My friends really like the new hairstyle!
