How do you prepare your steaks before grilling? Marinades, seasonings etc..

marinade it over night in some good bar-b-q sauce or a marinade of your choice...stab meat with a fork so the juices will set in ovrnight

I always season my meats before I wrap them and put them in the freezer. Marinades in plastic freezer bags and rubs or herbs in the paper. That way when you take the meat out to defrost it will marinade itself.
As for steak... McCormick's Montreal Steak Seasoning I like best.

For a good cut of steak like a ribeye I just put salt and pepper on it. For a little tougher cut such as a sirloin I will marinade it in italian dressing for several hours.

This is the marinade I use it is always well received at my home.
1/2 can or bottle of beer
2 cloves garlic crushed
salt and pepper
teriyaki sauce
lemon juice
hot sauce (if you like it spicy)
Let the meat marinate for about 3 hours then cook however you like.

My favorite is just salt and pepper. It will taste like is seasoned, but it won't change the flavor of the meat.

I live in CA, and here at our S-Mart stores you can buy a seasoning called Pappy's. It is great for any type of meat or poultry. Rotisserie chicken comes out great!

try putting on soy sauce on one side and Lawry's salt and pepper on both sides (if you put soy on both it is too strong) grill or broil to desired cooking range a.k.a. rare-medium- well etc.
