The last time I was in Paris (two years ago) I loved putting together my own picnics at the different cheese, bread and wine shops. I can't tell you how many times I said to myself "I wish I had my Swiss Army knife!"

I also remember the metal detectors at the Louvre and other attractions, though. Does anyone know if I'd get in touble for carrying a Swiss Army in my bag (about 3" closed)? I certainly don't want to cause a scene every time I go into a public bldg.

There is no law preventing you from carrying any number of items such as knives, there are many shops selling them on the high street, things that the paranoid Brits would not believe.
Fancy a .44 cal 6 chamber black powder revolver?

In Paris(outside) it is ok but in the Louvre not so much.
