Not only does may tastes good on a burger, but scientifically speaking, that layer of mayo (fat) on the bun creates a little fat barrier that keeps the tomato, ketchup, and meat juices from making your bun all soggy. I always put a thin layer on both pieces of my hamburger bun.

The brain knows when something is fatty. Fatty = most energy = better survival for the past many million years of evolution. Mayonnaise on hamburger = fatty fat fat = lots of people's instincts going off. Then no one will have sex with them. So their chances go down. Then they go to 24 fitness and say wahhhh....

Mostly personal taste, some people esp. Europeans like Mayo on their fries too.

I for one love mayo. I like to eat a warm tortilla with mayo, tomatoes, avocado and salt.......Mmmmmm. Sounds good right now. Oh, and don't forget the Pepsi.
Oh, and it has to be Best Foods Mayo for me!!

Usually when you find mayo on burgers in a restaurant they are called California burgers and they are popular and tasty too.

Because I like the way mayo tastes on my burgers more than I like mustard. Makes it sorta creamy, and I like that on my burgers. MMMMMMM Makes me wanna get a whopper! lol
