The reason we use the term whiteboard is because it's white. Those things we used to write on with chalk, were blackboards, because they were black. At no time were teachers told not to call them blackboards. The racists made this rubbish up to convince stupid people that their way of life was under threat from unnecessary political correctness. Incidentally, the story about nurseries teaching children "Baa Baa Blue Sheep" was another of these lies that the Sun, Mail etc loved to report.

I'm a lecturer, and never, in my training nor in my work, have I ever been prohibited from using the term blackboard - I think that's an urban myth.
Having said that, when did you last see a black board? Chalk boards are almost always green, marker boards are white. I use an interactive projector these days!

I always wondered why when I was a kid, we called it a black board when the board was green. Things I believe are only racists, when it originates from the heart. I mean when I was a kid and even now, if I call it a black board it means I am a racist? Its only racist if hate originates from my heart

well to my knowledge black boards are still used in some schools and people still call them black boards even though they are dark green. I didnt know they couldnt use that word. they still do. I absolutely don't think its racist.
I have black pants, and i call them black pants and i'm not going to stop calling them black pants. I also i have a white pillow and a brown chair and a red dress.
Colors are colors. Just because someone uses a color as a adjective, does not mean they are racist.
i'm baffled. is my art store going to stop selling products that have black in them??!?!?!?! or just rename them?

i am still in school, and they use words like black board and white board all the time, but now with more computers around, they use interactive boards more often, so black and white boards dont get mentioned as much (but mostly it is white boards)

Its because black people have always been subjected to racism so anything that can remind them of the old days of slavery and racism is strongly discouraged. Nowdays there are very few schools with colured boards for writing.

It's actually because they aren't black anymore. And it's ridiculous to call something that's Green a BLACK board.
And if you go to a school that's still using Black Chalk Boards then I guess I understand why your spelling and grammar are so poor. It's time for your school to update the equipment.
Good luck!
