I have been potty training for a week now. Starting yesterday I pulled out one of her potty's instead of using the big potty (actually using a little of both) when she gets up and before a bath she'll use the big potty. Today she got up at 11:00 and I put her on the potty. Nothing. She had a bath and sat on the big potty nothing. SHe has been sitting on the little potty for at least 10 mionutes at a time sometimes up to a half hour depending what's on tv. The thing is she hasn't pee'd on the potty but she hasn't had any accidents anywhere either. She is panty and diaper free at the moment. Is something wrong.

As I hit submit success she went pee on the potty. I guess I was just a little impatient.

Oh honey be patient!!! A week is nothing! You are doing good and she has some control of her bladder thats why she is still dry. I can relate because with my son I took away his pull ups then realized how long he can stay dry. It took my son 2 weeks before I got him to go pee then when he did I made a HUGE deal! Now this was also on my 3rd attempt training him when we tried times before we took a break becaue it ws not working. It can depend on her age also as to readiness. My son was almost 3 when we were on our 3rd attempt and within a month he was trained for #1 now he is 3 years and 3mos and we pretty much got #2 down but with most kids it takes time and patience.

Good for you! Don't give up... and don't put her on the potty too much for too long; she may decide it's more like a punishment! My daughter did the same thing. She did great for a while, then I got a bit obsessive... and then she decided she didn't like to -- or need to -- go potty. That's when I introduced "potty treats." I carried around M&Ms or gummies and gave her 1 or 2 as a reward for every time she did something on the potty. (My friend did the same with stickers.) We also talked a lot about how she's a big girl... and big girls go potty and wear big girl panties. (Praise, praise, praise). Just don't be surprised if you have a few setbacks. You're doing great! Tell her she is, too! :)

Potty Training takes lots of patience. the one thing that i needed clarification on, was : does she watch tv while on her potty? as you mentioned she sits on the potty 10 min, longer depending what's on tv. Potty training is something the kids need to concentrate on, and maybe the tv, is distracting to her. Good Job on being consistant and going through the same motions with her each day. It will just take time. If she's not going,, then maybe she just doesnt have to go. If she wont go on the potty maybe she's scared. There's a book for toddlers about potty training, i forget the name, as mine is now 14, but it explained about pee pee and poo poo and why we had to use the bathroom and i recommend it for all children, It helps them become more comfortable with the whole training process. Good luck

You'll have days when they go all the time on the potty and then days when they just refuse. My advice is to let your daughter decide. Don't rush the process, let her decide if it's a potty day or a diaper day. I feel by not rushing the process and letting them feel like they are in full control you'll slowly see how she wants to use the potty all the time.

She might be dehydrated. When a child isn't urinating often, it could be a sign of dehydration. My two toddlers ALWAYS go first thing in the morning, so you may want to give her some water.
