Costco would be the cheapest place to buy beer or alcohol.

In my experience, Wal-mart is not the place to buy beer with a few exceptions. What Walmart, at least where I live, does is they match competitors' ads. Since they do that, they do not feel that they need to have everyday low prices on some things. I have even heard a WM manager tell a Coke salesman that while his product is in such-and-such's ad, he does not want that product in his store, because he did not want to match the ad price.
They count on people not going to the trouble of bringing in the ads so they will not get the sale price. But they do ad match, so they must be better ... right?
Grocery store managers sometimes have the authority to do in-store specials that are lower than the ad prices, or their everyday prices, so long as they do not go below cost. In my area, Kroger manager's have that authority, and use it very well. They almost always have lower prices than Wally's World.
The thing to do is to check around, and do not buy into the advertising mumbo-jumbo that Wal-Mart puts out there.
And to ask someone locally, the people to ask would be the beer guys themselves. Part of our jobs is to monitor prices around town so we know who is going to be selling more.

Well I am not sure about your Wal-Mart but ours does not even sell it, but basically all beer prices are the same. If you have a Mark's try there. Beside that screw Wal-mart they take money out of our economy

My Wal-mart just began to sell beer. But My only complaint is they dont have a very good selection.
Bev-Mo is pretty good, but I dont know if they are anywhere but in southern california

Heineken beer is $1 a bottle. Now you can't beat that!

Walmart doesn't sell beer...at least not by me.
