Pretty sad, isn't it? And to think that the Catholics consider him to be the closest thing on Earth to God. What an embarrassment.

It certainly seemed intentional, since it had nothing to do with the rest of his speech. It had no connection with what he was saying.

I am a Muslim, and if a Muslim leader made any kind of insensitive comment about any other religion, I'd be one of the first people to condemn him and get on line to express my feelings about it to the followers of this religion. The same goes for the insult of any nationality or race by a respected leader.
And at a time like this, the world doesn't need the spread of any more hate. In fact, the leader of the Christian religion that is considered to be one of love, should be the first person to try and spread love and peace.

I'm no fan of his, but he was being honest with a topic on which many Europeans are in serious denial. People need to face the problem. Stir up hatred? No matter how muslim-friendly a country is, it doesn't protect them. Look at Europe. Muslim hatred of the west isn't going to go away no matter how much you appease them.

Question for Carmenasks: how many postings do you have on this site condemning all the anti jewish remarks made almost daily by muslim leaders around the world? Do you even have one? Cairo happens to broadcaste anti-semitic (e.g. puting christian blood into matzah) television series weekly. You must be very busy.

The answer is simple one of these two religions has to go and a holy war will settle it, unfortunately two wrongs will not make a right and neither side will allow neutrality, you will either belong or you will be dead, all of this will be done under the name of God pretty pathetic, why would any one want to belong to such Ignorance and violent philosophy from these two religions is beyond me.
