My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 2 years..His birthday was last week and I went all out for him, ballons, fancy rest, presents, etc..Now my birthday was yesterday. I asked him a few day s ago to see what we were going to do that night, and he said "well, I have some clients I need to train", he is a personal trainer, but he had no problem taking off from his clients last week when I took him out..so the thing is he didnt even come over after, or just want to spend time with me after he was done, in all honesty that is what I wanted...So, I was really hurt yesterday and later that night he knew I was because I told him that he hurt me...he said he was sorry, but I told him that I shouldnt have to tell him these things and he should've gone all out for me , especially when I always make the plans for everything and always take him out...

If he was able to change the clients to a different time he should of. Or he should of at least called and came over after with a little something special for ya. Sounds like you might have taker then a giver...

hopefully you do those things and dont expect anything in return?

maybe he really couldnt take off with those clients. sometimes you really just dont need to. theres plenty of reasons why he didnt. what was the gift? was it expensive ? if so he may have needed the extra hours or something to pay it off..or he was/is plannning something special still

Unless he DOES have a surprise, it looks like YOU are doing all the "work" in the relationship and your boyfriend is a self-involved, selfish jerk, who cares more about his career!

Stop showering him w/attention and gifts; you've already talked to him w/no change...so move out for awhile and let him see what it's like without you. If he doesn't come crawling back, ditch him!
