Wow, that's a tough one. The fact that you are asking around shows that you really care.
I wish I could be of more help. However, these sorts of things generally need to touch on personal events that the folks in this forum are unlikely to be privy to. I suggest consulting her mother as well as other adults who have been part of her life for inspiration. But, most of all, consult yourself as you are the most familiar with your relationship with your daughter and have watched here grow up.
Include personal touches but not enough to be embarrassing. Include humor, but not enough to come across as overly sarcastic. Make it long enough to show you put some thought into it, but short enough that you don't bore your audience, and most of all include an "I love you" at the end.
Good luck!

Wow, that is way too much. Sounds almost like they are going to be on the MTV show Sweet 16. That's insane. I think the TV's, party, and some jewelry would have been plenty. You figure they will probably be moving out soon to go to college or start their own lives to the TV's would be a nice start. The puppy and treadmill to share aren't really a good 18 year old gift since when they move out it becomes your gifts. $1000 is a lot of money even to share. I think it would have been better spent on bills.

Well, I would need more details in order to help you. What have you got in your head or written down already? I would do like you said and keep things brief and tell her that you are proud of her becoming a young woman, and that you hope she makes the right choices in life, and you'll stand behind her no matter what.

Many Happy Returns
Although another year is past
She seems no older than the last.
To Lucy, who looks every younger, seems ever wiser, and spends ever more freely.

Here's to Lucy. No matter how old she is, she doesn't look it.
May this next year bring you the very best of happiness health and fortune.
To the most cleverly guarded secret in this country: your age.

just talk about some of your favorite memories of her, both funny and serious. Being able to recall specific moments that she may not is the best way to show her you love her.
