I've done a lot of reading on the third Reich and you are way way off base there kiddo. When you make these comparisons I see how little you actually know about that era or that movement.

Yes, I've come across quite a few on the web.
In the newspaper TODAY:

Here's a few more (but there's TONS out there):

"It is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
-Reichsmarschall Hermann Goering, a leading member of the Nazi Party, second in command of the Third Reich, and commander of the Luftwaffe.
Then, just like Hitler, Bush used the "attacks" as an EXCUSE to greatly diminish the people's civil liberties, rights, and protections against unfair treatment by the government, and increase Presidential powers.
It amazes me that anyone even supports him. How brainwashed is that half of America? How did their vision of reality become so distorted and hate based? How can they possibly imagine themselves as victims when they are the ones attacking everyone else's civil rights? Is this a national mental illness? Where do they come up with their garbage about what they think WE are thinking (which isn't even close!)??? What's with the word definitions game they play: do they really think giving bad policy a cutey-pie name makes it ok? How do you get through to people who no longer have any rational sense of reality? Why do they think their politics of hate and discrimantion is a good thing?

Some one once said, "If you stand on a street corner in down-town New York City, within one hour every type of wacko will pass by you".
I thought that was a little strong but I'm not sure any more.
What is this thing of trying to connect one thing with another, especially when it is like trying to connect a pair of shoes with a streetcar.
What gives?

Karl Rove is a student of Goebbels and his tactics are right out of the Goebbels instruction manual for propaganda.
Leogirl I would say either your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired or you are full of $h!t.

There are no parallels. The people elected Bush and he will be gone when his term expires.
