Laughing Out Loud, sometimes Lots Of Laughs.

Generally very overused - people will tack on a 'lol' at times when they're not sure what to say or just to tack it on, really. Sarcastic usage of it to mock Internet-speak is becoming more and more common.

Laugh out loud. You may also find LMAO. meaning "Laughed My *** Off", ROFL, or "Rolling on Floor Laughing", or even ROFLMAO, a combination of the two.
Imo stands for "in my opinion", btw (this means "by the way".)

I have to "laugh out loud" at myself. I asked my son the other day what this meant and he said: "Laugh out loud", boy do I feel silly, I thought it meant lots of love!
