Let us put aside our differences and embrace the fact that we all strive to follow Jesus to the best of our abilities. Is there not more we share than that we do not?

I feel we Christians can accomplish more together than we can apart. We may have different denominations but we are all part of the Body of Christ!

I believe we should stop trying to prove who's denomination is better and stand together. From now on stand up and defend ANY Christian who speaks the truth.

Absolutely. Not only would it be good but I believe it is necessary in order to obey better the Gospel of God and Christ. Paul speaks to these disagreements, which are part and parcel of any group of people who try to organize themselves whether they happen to be a group of fishermen or diplomats in the UN.
Indeed the core , substance and principle of any Christian is Jesus Christ and all of that he taught and said. This is the doctrine that unifies us all and is at the center of all true Christrian beleivers.
This is one of the better questions I've seen posted this month. Thanks Sister?(brotherhood of the Way, disciple of Christ, Follower of Christ.......)

So are the scribes and Pharisees still up to testing me?
According to Revelation 2 and 3, the 7 churches or congregations that are in existence at the beginning of the Lord's day, all have different problems..some are doctrinal, and others serve Satan or commit fornication and idolatry. Jesus warns them all to repent or he will remove their lampstand.
2Thess.2 :1-12 goes on to show that Jesus will soon destroy the apostasy and the man of lawlessness, which in another part of the Bible is the false religious leaders, and members; Matthew 23:28.
After this Jesus will continue gathering the wheat, under the leadership of Elijah, and all the Christians will be united or judged; Matthew 17:11, Matthew 13:30, Mark 9:12.
Zephaniah 1:8-13 And I will give attention to everyone that is climbing upon the platform in that day, those who are filling the house of their masters with violence and deception.
Matthew 26:59 Meantime the chief priest and the entire Sanhedrin were looking for false witness against_____to put __to death/disfellowship.
Busted...

You know what it is. If someone calls themself a Christian, then they should really act like it. They need to be holding to Jesus' teachings and following what he said so that they would know the truth and so that the truth would set them free. Alot of the time though, people make up their own doctrine and their own excuses and so that is how we have so much separation in denominations. That wasn't even what Jesus wanted, because before he died he prayed for Unity among the church. We can't go around trying to make "peace" if people are clearly needing a rebuke.

If christianity were the religion God wants us all to be a part of ....why do you think he let it get fractured into more than 30,000 denominations?
Why does it take at least 4 years of college theology courses just to begin to "understand" some of what the bible teaches?
Do you think god made the bible extremely hard to interpret so that a small percentage of the genius population would have a calling in life? Or is it because god is so complex that his word has to be the same?

There are a lot of things that Christians can agree with within the pale of orthodoxy; the divinity of Christ, the inerrency of the Bible, salvation by faith onto works, etc. Focusing on those things and being willing to accept other opinions concerning those things with are not critical to salvation, such as infant baptism vs older baptism, pre- post- or anamilleniumism, etc, would be a good thing.

The Christ we share??? That's a joke. The Jesus I know is my Lord and Savior.
As of 4:48 PM today the Catholics still haven't accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Come on! I read your profile??????????

The disciples who first heard Jesus say this about eating His flesh and drinking His Blood, were stumped, too (v. 60 "This is an hard saying, who can hear it?") because they were taking it too too much in the physical sense.
Jesus answer to them was "v63--It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
Some Protestants reduce the spirituality of the Communion meal to "mere symbolic act" and some Catholics reduce the spirituality of the Communion meal by excluding members of the family of Christ who want to share it with them. The Body of Christ is broken all over again when this happens.
When two or three are gathered in his name, whether at Holy Communion or at other times of prayer, Christ truly is there in their midst, spiritually. And all Christians know, when Jesus is there spiritually, He is REALLY, truly there.
Source(s):
The mouth IS involved in determining whether we have life within us or not. Paul speaks plainly in Romans 10: 8 The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thout shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the MOUTH confession is made untorighteousness.

Your question in simplicity sounds truly "idealistic" yet it fails, because no one can follow Christ and do the things He asks, until one is born of God and then filled with the Spirit to be empowered to live godly and holy lives. Yes we do need to love one another as we love God, and loving them doesn't mean we need to put down our differences or set them aside, it means we through the grace of God love one another. Okay you may disagree with my particular doctrine, thats okay, are you going to Heaven so am I, how through Christ - for there is no other way to get to Heaven but through Him - Are you born of God, born again, born from above, So am I, for to know the love of God and have the forgiveness of sins requires repentance and regeneration, this is done through faith in the "meritorious work of Christ on the cross". He did it all, he died for all, He made the way possible for all. Where you a sinner, So was I, and I too was convicted of my sins and repented of them and found His grace abundantly supplied that I may be saved through Him. Are you made into a new Creature, praise the LORD of Glory, So am I! When Christ came into my heart I was transformed I became a child of God. Are you cleansed from your sins, and made righteouts by His precious Blood! So am I, for there is none that is cleansed in any other way. Are you baptize, emmersed filled with the Spirit, so am I. Dont we have the same Spirit? Yes we do, for all those who come to God and believe on His Name of the Only Begotten Son the Spirit of Adoption the Holy Spirit declares us to have accomplished by faith what God has asked of us to do. So our differences are not so different. I believe, you believe, we are in Christ there is no dismemberment of the body! How can the body live if is separated from the body, it cannot ever! So we are of the stock of Abraham. Those who are born of God all come the same way. Through Christ, by the Spirit by the will of the Father that draws them!

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of different xtian sects. All believe they are the true ones and that the others are misguided in some way. Not to mention what they think of non-xtians. Even mainstream non-catholic xtians can't agree on whether or not catholics are xtian! What makes you think they will EVER get along? It's all about judgement and self-righteousness.

In stating that all of us who follow Christ are invited by you to focus on what 'we' share you are excluding most of the world's population. This reads more like a call to arms, presumably you wish to stress that which you do not share with other religions lending further justification to war mongering and looking for further false pretexts to wage undeclared wars.
