Assuming, as you say, God and Satan were real, I cannot see how the shattering of the Christian faith could be anything but Satanic. If God's word is innerant, which it would be under such an assumption, then division is demonic in nature.
Though I am not a believer, I always felt that John Paul II had it right in that he was always, ALWAYS, looking for ways to bridge the gaps of the past and find common ground, trying to work for the unity of Christ's legacy.
I wish every single Christian on the face of the Earth would watch the movie "Dogma." It's rather bogus, and flippant at times, but there is a very interesting Truth (and I use the capital intentionally) in it. The last zion and the apostle are talking about the nature of knowledge, faith, and belief. The apostle points out that people will kill and die for a belief, so belief is a really bad thing... you can't debate or discuss a belief. You can, however, have an IDEA, and discuss and debate an idea. Towards the end, the Apostle looks to the last zion and asks, "Crisis of faith solved?" "Yes." "Are you telling me you believe?" "Nope... ... but I've got a really good idea."
Would that all of us, of every religious persuasion, could set aside our beliefs, have faith in our ideas, and move forward together with respect and trust in each other's abilities to seek truth in the manner our heart and conscience requires us.

I think you are spending time with the wrong people. I have a lot of Christian friends and friends who are not Christian and we do not spend our time fighting each other about who is right and who is wrong. A Christian who makes anyone feel inferior, should examine himself very closely. Christ came to save the lost not to be the author of confusion. We as Christians, can win more people to Christ by acting like Christ than we can by causing conflict. If people look at you and say, I want to be like him or her, then the convert is won.

I am sadden by the fact that 2 thousand years ago a message of peace was delivered personally by the man who was crucified and that we have not learned a thing about that message. We measure peace by our standard and by our own terms. Satan is not only laughing because of the infighting's but because most of us remained ignorance of the true meaning of peace.
Just like you, I am hoping for a better world where kindness, respect and love prevails.
God bless you.

DO YOU KNOW SOMETHING. GOD ARGUES ASWELL. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN HIM GET ANGRY?
ANYWAY SOMETIMES PUTTING MUCH EFFORT INTO PUTTING THE THINGS RIGHT BY RAISING YOUR VOICE IS A GOOD THING AND SATAN HATES ANYONE WHO WANTS PEOPLE TO FOLLOW SCRIPTURE TO THE LETTER. UNFORTUNETELY ALMOST ALL CHURCHES DO NOT, IN FACT ALL CHURCHES IN SOME RESPECT DO NOT RELY ON THE AUTHORITY OF THE WORD SOMETIMES INTENTIONALLY SOMETIMES BECAUSE THEY DID NOT DO THE RESEARCH.
ON THE CONTRARY, MORE PEOPLE TO STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD AND SPEAK OUT IS BEING AS JESUS WAS NO MATTER HOW MUCH DIVISION YOU CAUSE. JESUS CAUSED DIVISION - THERES A PROBLEM WITH MEN DOWN HERE ON EARTH YOU KNOW, ITS CALLED THE SIN AND THE CURSE.
SATAN DOES NOT WANT US TO HEAR THE WORD AND HE WILL DO ANYTHING TO SNATCH IT FROM US, HE'S BEEN USING HIS LIES AND THESE TACTICS SINCE THE GARDEN OF EDEN 6000 YEARS AGO!

Very good question Debra and you are so right. I think it thrills Satan to pieces to have Christians arguing amongst ourselves. Very good question.

yes he loves it when we fight amongst ourselves, Jesus's prayer was that one day that we may all be one like he and the father is. God didn't want and like all the dissention and breakup between us. United you conquer divided you fall.

Yes I suppose he is... But I think ignoring the problem doesn't help solve it either. Someone has to speak up.
