the subway diet worked because the overall fat/calorie intake per day of Jared was reduced. Reduce the number of calories you consume and you'll lose weight (if you maintain the same level of activity).
As long as whatever you put into your body is less than the energy required for your normal functioning, you'll lose weight because your body will take stored energy (often fat) and burn it.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. I think it worked for Jerrad because he was replacing extremely unhealthy meals with a sandwich. Also, I think he walked to Subway every time he went for one of those sandwiches.

The only good way to lose weight is on a balance, low fat, low calorie diet... but the subway diet sounds good to me.... yum yum xxx

it could if all you wanted was subway 6" sub three times a day
but if you only ate that much of just about anything you would loose weight
