I used to be an athiest. My life wasn't, in any way, going where I wanted it to go. I rarely had dates. Things never seemed to work out. I'm talking about a ten year stretch. I was depressed all the time and often suicidal. I wanted a wife, kids, a house, and good job. When I met my wife (then girlfriend) she asked me to check church out. After a few months my life started to change. Now, six years later, I have a wife, a son, a house of our own, and a job I never imagined would be possible. People that were already in my life became incredible blessings to me. Love started to pour out into all different corners of my life. Now, we have friends and a community of people that are there to support us 110%. This turn around didn't happen until I started believing in God and interacting with Him. Prayers come true my friend and dreams do to. There's a way that we're intended to live. When we start following that path, life straightens out. Love shows up. That's God my working in our lives my friend. He did it for me. He'll do it for any of us if we're sincere. If you go into it looking for nothing, nothing is what you'll most likely get.

Wow!... why so angry? Did you have a bad experience growing up? Or better yet... you obviously haven't reached a point in your life where you've truly experienced a solid relationship with God and His amazing love for you and toward you.
If you choose to look at life in a way where you think and feel "it's all about what you can do for yourself" .... then there is nothing anyone could possibly say regarding how "God has helped them" that will change your mind... You seem bitter and quite unbelieving. So here guessing that even if you experienced a life saving miricle without the aide of man or machine you would no doubt attribute that to you doing it for yourself huh?
You are no different from soooooooooooo many people who actually think they are the true key to their own success in all aspects of life.... Self-absorbed, and full of doubt and too full of logical thinking. God is beyond your tiny intelligence or "bit of brain" thinking. Lifting up "self" to heights so lofty and grand and beyond the focus of the Creator is nothing new. As a matter of fact it started in heaven with the enemy of souls. It's a sad sin and it seems as though you're two seconds away from being completely jacked up with your vain imaginations regarding what you can do without God...
Don't be deceived. Without your Creator... you can't even take your next breath on your own...TRUST!
When someone has experienced absolute hatred toward someone because they have done something so absolutely evil and horrible to them.. and they've asked God to help them to forgive (even though they truly feel it's impossible to do so) and He hears and honors their prayer by answering and giving them peace and the abilty and willingness to forgive and love that person again (or at all). That's GOD's help... and something you're soooooooooo not able to do on your own.
He alone gives that person that ability and places that forgiveness and love for their enemies in their heart... that's an example of something that God has help so many people with who've asked Him. A forgiving spirit is not something that's very natural to people who've experienced harsh trauma due to very horrible experiences. ...
Bottom line is... yes you can do ALL things... things... "through Christ (alone) who strengthens you". Philippians 4:13
There you go then.
And please pray that God will deliver you from your anger and bitterness. That all about self attitude you have is really bursting out in every line of your question.

I have a confirmed reservation in heaven by the grace and mercy of God. This cannot be earned, but must be freely given by God. Try as you will, you cannot work your way into heaven. Eternal life is the only thing worth working for on this earth because it is the only thing that you can take with you. All else must perish.

The fact that I am alive and independant of a machine is something I could not accomplish alone. God did it. Not science not medicine but God!

I have said that, myself. For some it is a figure of speech. I know that I, alone am accountable for whatever I say or do. I do not believe that God gets involved down here. When I have felt that God helped me, and it has happened, it has been because I did not feel alone.
