the hymen sits just inside the vaginal mouth. The opening in the hymen differs in size from one woman to the next, some being the size of a pin head another large enough to insert a pinkie finger. Usually the membrane is very fine and fragile and insertion of anything will tear it. Physical virginity is often lost just thru rough and tumble play. Sexual virginity of course is not lost until the woman has intercourse.
