So, you think Italian and English are the same? I think maybe you're a few bricks short of a full load.

Your history of the English language is largely incorrect.

The "English" were not in Britain when the Romans were there. At that time, Britain was populated primarily by Celtic peoples.

After the Romans left Britain, German speaking peoples invaded. These people included the Angles and the Saxons, as well as others. The phrase Anglo-Saxon come from these people, and the world "England" is derived from "Angle land." (I think.)

The English were speaking a language with primarily German roots at the time of the Norman Conquest. The Normans spoke French, which is primarily derived from Latin. Thus modern day English is largely a combination of germanic words and latinate words--or if you prefer a blend of German and French. Needless to say, the Celtic languages contributed many words to English. Other English words come from Scandinavia because of the period of Viking raids and settlements.
