Get Baby Einstein or Leapfrog

2006-09-15 09:14:05 · answer #1 · answered by Sydney 5 · 0 0

A. Baby Sign (if she doesn't already know it)
B. Gymnastics- (18mos+) It's really just climbing on a bunch of fun equipment and playing developmental games.
C. Swimming- (18mos+) at her age they teach water familiarity, how to right yourself in the water and how to exit a pool- all very important
D. Language immersion- I'm refreshing my Japanese and speaking it to my son daily. We're choosing Japanese over Spanish because it's the harder to learn when he grows older
E. Kiddie hiking- (18mos+) gives her a strong comfort and appreciation for being outdoors
F. Music/keyboard class- they just get to bang around on different instruments and get to know where music comes from

The only TV my son watches id Little Einsteins- it's great (Baby Einstein will put both parent and child to sleep)
Obviously you wouldn't push your little girl to do more than one or two of these at a time, be careful not to be one of those "lives vicariously through her daughter" type soccer moms. Good luck.

I"m not sure if they are still available, but the LIving Books series were incredible. The only thing the kid had access to was the mouse and there was NO way to click something wrong. Best kids software I"ve ever seen.

sesame street. She is a freaking 1 year old. If you pressure her to do anything other than walk, you are a bad parent. You would be like one of those parents at an 8 yr olds soccer game that screams at their kid or the ref when the game does not go their way. Let me guess, you are gonna ground your kid for getting an A- in 1st grade. Let me give you some advice, don't tell you child anything, your negative, pressure filled influence is why we have children that collapse from too much pressure and bring guns to school or get hooked on drugs to relieve them from ridiculously high expectations from their parents.

Green caad doesn't know what heck he/she is talking about.
The first years of life are very important in teaching your child. In fact, most learning during the first five years are effortless. They will experience their fastest growth rates in their creative, cognitive, language and physical domains.
Look up Glenn Doman, founder of the Better Baby Institute. He is known for wonderful teaching methods regarding children from infancy up to 8yr old.
He offers many learning kits and methods for kids of all ages.

The best thing you can do with your daughter is read
and keep talking to her. The benefit is she will be
phonically ahead and allow her to be with other
children. She develops socially and won't be so
shy as she ages.

play with her, get her to play with other kids. do gym classes or dance classes for physical activities and interact with her but leave the computer stuff for later! she'll get into that soon enough! social kills and motor skills are more imporytant than her ABC at that age!
