I've used mayo from time to time as a deep condition for 30+ years. I slather enough to generously coat all of my hair (waist length and thick), wrap my head first in stong plastic, then a warm towel and leave in for minimum of 20 minutes. I walk around smelling like a salad, but it does wonders for my hair, leaves it shiny and full of body.
I think the protein in the eggs combined with the oil are the big contributors.

Mayo is used for alot of reasons in your hair. One is for shiny and healthy looking hair. It puts the moisture back in that we take out with daily brushing, styling, and blow drying. I would suggest to leave it in your hair for an hour because after you put it in ur going to have to wash it a few times to get the oily feeling out.
Totally off the subject it also smothers head lice in children. Just a piece of information.
Same subject it does give you shiny and manageable hair. I hope this helps.... Good luck

I dont know why but it seems to do nice things to my hair. Try mixing a couple of table spoons with an egg white and letting it sit in your hair for ten minutes before washing it out. The amount you will need to mix would depend on how long and thick your hair is.

I just read in a woman's mag (can't remember what one) it is. Probably because it has alot of protein in it. This article said 1 egg yolk mixed with 3 Tbs of mayo. I would guess you may need to double this because you have so much hair.

Yeah, it really does. It just softens your hair, and makes it easier to style. It gives it movement because it softens it so much. I personally don't think you can put too much of it. Just lather it all over your hair, shampoo after about an hour or two or as long as necessary, and your good to go!

2 egg yolks
1 cup of canola oil (olive oil will work, but the end result will taste oily)
1 teaspoon of dijon mustard

thats a recipe for basic mayonaise - i figure its gotta be if anything the egg yolks that would do something good for your hair

i heard that mayo conditions your hair, so if you have dry hair or a dry scalp i would suggetst covering your hair with mayo for like 5 min. thats what i read on the internet somewhere.

It is the oil in the mayo that is conditioning your hair. I would use a leave in oil treatment. You can find them in any beauty supply store and they are inexpensive.

i think it's nice. i've tried it once. it makes my hair soft and shiny. it depends on you wheter you like to put small or large amount. just let the mayo dry, for your hair, its better to leave t for 2 hrs. then rinse w/ water then dry it. then you shampoo your hair.
