before international warfare I, the Social Gospel develop into the non secular counterpart of U.S. "modern" politics, which sought to alleviate suffering and injustice by employing replacing society. Insofar because it spoke back to the city poverty created by employing industrialism, it paralleled Europe's inner challenge. The proponents of yank Social Gospel for the most section embraced liberal theology. It said sin and salvation as social fairly than individual; hence the time period Social Gospel. Proponents sought to prepare J.'s call to love the neighbor and the prophets' call for justice in certain courses which comprise the demanding artwork stream, settlement homes, and "application church homes" which offered interest education, language skills, and sport for immigrants. Walter Rauschenbusch develop right into a theologian for the Social Gospel, and Washington Gladden (1836-1918) helped popularize the stream by books, lectures, and hymns. The Salvation military might want to nicely be defined as an evangelical expression of the Social Gospel.

I dont' think most people know they are part of "evangelical" movements. They go to a church group and don't know the definition of "evangelical". You might want to define it.

hmm my friend recently got hardcore into this evangelical thing. now i cant stand being around him cause all he likes to do is argue with me why it is that i dont believe. and all that happens is he gets pissed off because he cant answer my questions. i want you to know unlike most of the "evangelists" out there, that doing that is preachign to people who have NEVER heard of christianity, not shoveling your load of bs down our throats (our being those of us who know about it and could care less)

It's good...if they would teach these kids the whole truth of the Bible and not just parts of it. Most are only half preparing them in the GOSPEL.
