Oh, he definitely sleeps. Adult cats sleep for about 16 hours a day. Kittens usually need more sleep than that. It's just that it's cat naps, so sometimes you won't know if they've slept at all (especially if you've been gone for his "nap time").

Have you tried playing with him until he's tired out? If not, I suggest giving it a try. Do so before you go to bed. Just play and play and play until he doesn't want to play anymore. Believe me, he WILL get tired eventually.

Oh, and another kitten for him to play with is a novel idea.....granted you have the money/desire to care for another pet. Cats generally do better in pairs.

Don't worry! All baby kittens are like that. Mine was too. One you have him/her neutered he/her will calm down a bit and by the time it is 1 year old you will want it to be that excited! Enjot it while you can! Mine sleep alllll day! =] Good Luck and give you kitty a biiiiiig squeeze for me.

All cats go through this stage and is very normal, he is also lonely and wants somebody to play with.

If at all possible get another kitten so he has got someone to keep him company, and you will be able to get a good nights sleep

Good Luck

I've got two right about this same age and they're the same. They just are like this - they're kittens. He'll grow out of it and settle down eventually. My older kitten is starting to settle down already.

Right now they're both running up and down the hallway and they sound like horses running around. Enjoy your kitten - he'll be grown up soon enough!

Good luck!

He sounds like a typical kitten.

He'll calm down. In four or five years he'll be less frenetic.

Meanwhile you might consider getting another kitten for him to play with...

your kitten is sooo full of energy. When it gets fixed it will settle down. Mine used to be like that, except for the walls.
