It depends on your teacher and how they have the classes structured. Many teachers keep having to amalgamate classes to keep them cost effective. Others mpve classes so they can charge more. If you are happy that your teacher has your best interests at heart, this should not be a problem. However, if your fees have suddenly increased as a result of being in a more 'advanced' class - be careful.

Hmm, well I would say that's a good thing that you have progressed up into another class, are you the same rank as the others?
you may be picking up the techniques better or faster, and you're instructor thinks that you may benefit from the move up.
Normally in the class I attend, when you turn 13, you can join the adult class and participate there.
if you're practicing at home and studying your terminology book, then perhaps your instructor does think you have potential.
you prob'ly haven't missed anything at all, in fact you may be preparing to learn new techniques. so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
but if you have doubts about your ability, make sure to let your instructor know that you don't feel that you deserve the new class or level.
good luck and stay with it

Generally speaking ..
this is a good thing. you will not have missed anything. you will probably be put in a position to teach the little ones in a few months, which is a different kind of training, but also very good.
trust your instructor ..
... until you have reason NOT to trust your instructor...

It's good from an intelligence point of view but it sounds like it might be knocking your confidence a bit somehow. If you feel unsure about the move up you should speak to someone who's in a position to give you a clear explaination as to why you've been moved just to reasure you it's the right thing really.

Wait. Do you think YOU are ready? And by class do you mean weight class? 3 weeks? Are you a prodigy or something? Did you have experience? Nothing more demeaning than going into a fight to pumped up and getting tapped in 15 seconds. I've taken guys out like that.
