If it was not mentioned, then it would be safe to conclude it was not relevant. (Genesis)
However, upon reading the story of the Tower of Babel, we realize that it was only much later than the creation of Adam and Eve that man began to have "differences". They no longer spoke the same language.
Man's depictions of God and man, at best, are subject to his own finite perception. Perhaps it is wise to recall the 1st the of 10 commandments at this point: "I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in Egypt. Do not make other gods before me. Do not make idols of any kind..." Exodus 20: 2-3: New Living Translation (NLT)

Genetically people the world over can be traced to 6-7 mothers (genetics can only trace by mothers not fathers). These first woman would be all the races and none of the races because they were start of all the races. In terms of skin, eye color and hair color in the not to distant future we will able have a pretty good picture of there looks.

I am pretty sure that Adam and Eve were of the human race, but not quite sure. As far as color I would assume the same color of other people in that region.

adam and Eve had no set race as they were the first man and woman on Earth they carried the seed for all races, including white, rather the question of what race Noah and his wife and children were, because that was a partial third recreation of the earth by god, the first before the fall of Satan ( lucifer) 2nd adam and eve 3rd Noah and the Ark.

There was no race at that time on the earth, so they belonged to none. Coz Eve and Adam very the only human beings on the earth and there was no variety that we call race now.

The first humans (call them Adam and Eve if you like) were Africans, so they were black. The word "race" refers to subcategories of human, but since they were the first there could be NO subcategories yet. Indeed, scientists have abandoned the whole notion of "race" since it becomes impossible to precisely define the differences without vast numbers of exceptions. So they were black-skinned humans in Africa.

Why is it important to know? The way it is depicted is the opinion of someone else and how they probably viewed them.
