Actually, it's not the spinach itself making people sick, it's e-coli bacteria contamination from the plant. Too many people using the bathroom and not washing their hands. It could be deadly. Best option is to buy bulk produce .

It's not the spinich, it's bacteria on due to the fields it's growing in not have proper ways of disposing of workers wastes and its not being properly washed after picking nor washed when people use it at home.

I know, when I read that I went in & threw all of ours out. We don't eat a lot of lettuce, we use baby spinach leaves for salads, so this was a shock. They are saying E-Coli, but they don't know how it contaminated the products.
My theory: The farm workers using the fields as toilets!!!!
That is why unless I grow it myself........ I WASH IT!!!!!!

Yes. My co-worker got sick she had the diarrhea for over a week now and she finally realized that she has e. coli poisoning.

Yes, heard it on the local news last night. I don't eat it anyway. Did you know you can get Hepatitis by eating at Fast Food Restaurants??
