Females are smaller than males. Trust the vet.

I have a 9 month old yellow lab. She weighs close to 45 pounds. She is so active that she looks kind of skinny, but my vet says she is fine.

If the vet said she's ok, then she's ok. Weight and size depend on genetics, feeding and exercise. Getting a dog too big or too fat by extra feeding and special vitamins is a bad idea. It can cause lameness, arthritis and joint problems.

if your vet says shes ok, then shes ok. weight can be dependent on genetics so there is a wide range of what can be considered normal. ive seen some petite labs, and ive seen some monsters!

Labs can run small. I know of a lab who is about 50lbs. One lab across the street from me has short legs. I think as long as you love him his size shouldn't matter
