A snickerdoodle and a sugar cookie are VERY different. While the base dough is very similar, a traditional sugar cookie is rolled out and cut into shapes. They are often frosted.
A snickerdoodle, on the other hand, is shaped into balls and coated in cinnamon sugar. Then they are placed on the cookie sheet and flattened slightly before they're baked.
You could use sugar cookie dough for the base for a snickerdoodle, but NO. They are not the same thing.

Sugar cookies are quite different from Snickerdoodles. Sugar cookies fall into the category of "rolled" (meaning rolled out and cut) and Snickerdoodles are rolled into a ball, the size of a walnut, then rolled into a moxture of cinnamon and sugar, then baked. Snickerdoodles do have that notorious "tang" to them because of the Cream of Tartar, and are of a cake-like consistency. Both are good, but very different from eachother.

No it is not.
Snickerdoodle's have an extremely distinct flavor, that sets it apart from the ordinary Sugar cookie.
The flavor is none other than "Cream of Tarter" seasoning.

No. There are recipes and there are formula. Recipes can get replaced and mixed approximately. formula are time examined and authentic. maximum baking recipes are formula that should no longer get replaced in case you elect the baked merchandise to be appropriate.
