Can a periodontist extract your wisdom teeth? Yes and no. A periodontist is a dentist specialize in periodontal (gum) disease. So of course, he or she knows how to extract any teeth. However, a periodontist is not likely want to extract your wisdom teeth because of unseen complications. It's also much easier for him or her to refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon or oral surgeon who specialize in extracting wisdom teeth.

Technically yes. But...
1. Here in Oz they wouldn't do it because they are legally meant to keep within their specialty.
2. They probably don't want to do it because they may not have the equipment, and they may not have the skills if it's a tough extraction.
3. Being a specialist means you won't get it cheaper than any other specialist.
4. If your teeth are not too difficult, many general dentists are competent to help you. Some are very skilled. I'd be asking more friends about their experiences and recommendations.
5. From your point of view, if the teeth are difficult, you will be better under IV sedation or a GA.
Best of luck!

Yes a periodontist can. Though he may specialize in gum surgeries, he can still extract wisdom teeth because that procedure is basics for all types of Dentists.

They are all trained in it. It all depends on how complicated the extractions will be, if he will do it or not. That why they send you to surgons. because trust me stuff can go wrong. but simple pnes, you'll be fine.
