My mom and I both love chocolate and we recently noticed (within the last few months) that Hershey's Milk Chocolate bars don't taste as good. They taste waxier and not very chocolatey. I actually didn't finish the one I had and when I when I made smores at a campfire a few weeks ago, the smores definitely seemed weird.

They were not from the same package either. I bought them in different states.

Have you tasted one recently? Did it seem to have a lesser quality than before?

If you haven't had one recently, try one sometime and see if it tastes different to you, and let me know.

I was thinking of writing Hershey and asking them if they changed their "recipe".

u r right, and it's been longer than recently since i noticed. I craved their hershey with almond bar, it's not the same, I don;t bother anymore and yes other brands definitely win over.

There are many chocolate makers in our world. We in the US were raised on Hershey's and thought it was great as children, but in the world market it is not held in high regard. It's too sweet and has too many extenders.

Hershey's is a huge multinational corporation but sell most of their chocolate products in the US. If they put less chocolate in their bars they'll have more profits. If they say any different I wouldn't believe them if their tongues came notarized!

My advice:: discover the international world of chocolates i.e the Belgian and Swiss chocs. I find they're the best!

I hope this helps.

I can't even come near Hershey's chocolate after having Ghiradelli's. Symphony (I think that's a Hershey product) and Dove are okay in a pinch though. Yes, I'd write Hershey and see what's up. Try Ghiradelli's thought, you'll die, that stuff is so good. Good post!

Hershey's always kind of tasted a little bit funny to me. If you like milk chocolate you should try some other brands you might like better: Lindt, Cadbury's, Dove...now I'm craving one!

I have sworn off hershey's and go after Dove, as I felt for years the bars just didn't taste "right".

As it turns out they have stopped making milk-chocolate and started making cow's blood-chocolate. I don't know about it myself, but that's what the focus groups say kids want now a days.

I buy one candy bar a week each week after church on Sunday on the ride home and they seem the same to me but I will pay closer attention this Sunday.

I don't think there is any difference. We just bought two bigger bars at Hersheypark recently and they tasted the same as always.

It's possible that the new packaging is manipulating the way you're taste buds react to it. It could just be psychological.
