I have the opportunity to visit regularly with Marines who have been to Iraq and Afghanistan within the last five years. Some of these guys have done duty over there three and four times. You can usually tell the number of tours they've had based on the ribbons they wear, although the average civilian doesn't know one from the other, except the purple heart and medal of honor.

The thing that astounds me about these young men is their absolute desire to go back to the war zone. These guys are really connected with this war, and truly believe in what they're doing. This isn't phony bravado that I am seeing, these are warriors who are properly trained and ready to eliminate as many insurgents as they can scrap up.

A few years back, I was a member of their ranks, so they identify with me and I with them. The big difference today, compared with my time in grade, is the espirit de corps these guys have today compared to the attitude of my era. These guys really do want to get back, they really do want a piece of every insurgent they can get their hands on, and they appear completely fearless.

Now, what was your question?

Dude follow these 2 steps: 1.) put the blunt down, 2.) clean out your ears and listen:

The insurgents are afraid of the U.S. military. Where the hell did you get the clue that our military members over there were afraid?

Get ahold yourself (and not your private parts) and try to do something worth while with your life. And quite picking on the military.

I have an idea, go over to one of the guys that has been over there recently and ask them if they are afraid of insurgents, wait, better yet go ask a marine that has watched his buddy die over there and ask him if he's afraid of the insurgents, you are probably going to get a few choice words and then a "Get the F**k out of my face."

HOORAH!

On the contrary, the insurgents are shaking at the sight of U.S. troops ... why else do you think they hide in the shadows, dress up like women, and send small children out to do their dirty work.

Maybe you should join our armed forces and try to make a change in a system that you seem to believe to be so inferior. The problem is, that you know you don't have what it takes to walk two steps in a soldier's boots.
