i am sure you are tired of hearing it, but all kids are different. make them talk. dont give them things unless they say it. also, try reading to them alot.

I'm sorry, but there's no right answer. The average two-year-old knows 400 words by her birthday. My first 2 kids said one word things at a year, very minimal. Milk, Mama, Daddy, Kitty, Ball, More, What's that (S'at?) and Ucky, that sort of thing. My last one didn't say more than 5 words until she was 20 months. And at that point, Dr. said no worries.

I have two children and both of them were different on starting talking. My son (6 years old now) started before his first birthday. Saying small words. My daughter (3 yearsold now) started after her first birthday.
A friend of mine had a son that didn't say one word until he was 2 and a half. They even took him to the doctor to see if anything was wrong with him.
Kids just have their own time to start doing things. I wouldn't worry unless you have a reason to.

around 10-30 but they can actually understand more than they can say so don't worry if yours is less. My friend had a child that never said a word until he was 3 and then he popped out a complete sentence!

I'd like to know this too, you are not alone. I have an 18 month old that hasn't even said "momma" yet. She'll somewhat say "hot" or "dog", but she is very behind on her speech.
