I might not have been clear last time I asked this question. I'd like to know how long a Navy person is at sea, as defined by the time between first stepping on a ship and getting of from the ship onto another piece of land. I'm not interested in deployment rates. I want to know how many back-to-back days a typical soldior can expect to stay on a ship without getting off.

Its depends on what kind of ship youre on, submarines for example have sea times of over 60 days. Join the navy and see the world was the word in the old days but as far as I know shoreleaves and port stops tend to be much less than it used to be in us navy. I would rekomend that you cald navy info departent or whatever that is called to see the rates for the ship of your choise, if you can choice, that is. Johan

The term you are attempt to use is "Term of duty." It is usually less than a months. While ships can be resupplied out at sea, it is easier to do so at dock side. As far as time a soldier can expect to spend on board a ship? That would depend on why he was on one. Sailors go by the above.

They are usually at sea for 6 months and then 6 months at a Naval Base. It could be longer now because of the war in the Middle East.

It depends on what's going on. There is no "average" time underway. My first deployment, our longest underway was around 60 days. My second deployment, our longest underway was just long enough to get us a beer day. My third and last deployment, we were in port every 2 weeks on average. My first two deployments were also 6 months long, my last deployment was 7.

29 Days via fact the group gets Deployment Pay over 30 days. while on Deployment for 6 months you pull in approximately each and every 3 weeks reckoning on the place you're and what kind of deliver your on or if in attempt against excetera. each and every now and returned, not often, deployments are made to purposely circulate to different international locations or fleet week in NYC etc.

That's a tough question to answer, because how long you spend on the boat depends on what ports you are traveling between.
