Honey, your cat is extremely old - I've never heard of a cat this old - my boss had one that lived to be 22 though - and her body is just plain worn out. The frequent urination tells me her kidneys are worn out, which frequently happens to old cats.
Even though you don't want to think about it, the time has come to do the right thing by your cat and have her put to sleep. You must think of her well-being and not your own feelings. She is not enjoying her life any more.
Queen Elizabeth, a very wise lady, after burying one of her beloved corgi dogs all by herself, said, "Grief is the price we pay for love". I've paid that price many times with my own animals, and it's all worth it. I know it's hard, but you must help this poor cat move on to her new destiny. She loves you - it's up to you to repay her love in the last best way you can.
Good luck, honey. ((((Hugs)))))

You have done a good job to have a cat 26 yrs of age. The peeing could be a urinary tract infection, struvite crystals, kidney problems, the muscles are weak due to age and she is unable to control or hold her urine. The pucking could be caused by hairballs.
Im not saying put her down but I do think she needs to seen by a vet to rule out the possiabilitys mentioned above. Have blood work and a urinalysis done. This cost around $100 -$110.00 get a quote from your vet and if your unable to afford the cost in full talk to your vet about making payments. If your a good client and faithful then it should be alright.
Problems due arrive as we age and we need to do what is in the best interest of our loved one, just keep that in mind.
Good luck

Look this is not easy by any means That cat has lived a very full life and sadly it seems that she is at her end. I would say this when a domestic cat starts to pee where ever she wants it is so hard to scold such a cat. she is very old by many means and it sounds that she is not what you remember as the cat you love. Remember her for the good and it is time to say goodbye. I am so sorry and I hate to this as I love cats and then last thing that I want to say is this It is more dignifying to put her down now while you can still remember the cat she was.

The cat has lived a long happy life from the sounds of it. You did a great job on that. The simple explanation for her urinating where ever she is -- is her age. Her bladder control may be getting weak / or maybe it is not there anymore. Maybe you could think of how the cat is feeling physically versus how you are feeling emotionally to help you decide what the best decision is for your beloved pet.

Judging by what the others have said, it sounds like kidney failure. I don't know anything about kidney failure, but it does sound to me like she's sick and nearing the end of her life. You might be better off just having her humanely euthanized. I know it's hard, but it's probably the best thing for her. Better that than suffer a slow, painful death.
And like I said before, just remember how lucky you are to have had her for this long. 26 is a really good, long life for a cat:)
God bless.

Wow. That is an old cat. I've never heard of a cat living that long. Unfortunetly, you'll probably have to look into putting her down. At that age, it's not realistic to think she'll be getting better. You have my condolences. I have a 10 year old cat that is starting to exibit some of the same behaviour.

If you truly love this cat one would think that you would take it to the vet. I have 3 labs and I couldn't stand watching them do the things your cat is doing without knowing what was wrong. I had a friend that had a sick cat and waited too long to go to the vet, The cat died from heart worms. If they had gone to the vet earlier or had been giving meds for heart worms the cat would be alive today.

probably kidney failure.. just take the poor girl to the vet..
if she isn't stinking like hell i'm not sure... remember now at this age..... good chance the vet will say put her to sleep.
this improvement is probably only temperary. unfortunately. i've had some old cats in my time... i seen where they improved then i let them go.. the peeing didn't improve and then they started to stink something foul.. then they would moan and ache real bad.. i couldn't take it.
they couldn't take it.
finally i gave up i took them to the vets... of course.. leaving without them.
sigh.
that's the best advice i can give.
now days there's more offered for pets... but if she's that old.... just see what the vet says.

I never had a cat live past 18, and when she couldn't find her way around the house and peeing on the floor in the hall, it was time. Hardest thing we ever had to do, but when you love your pets, you have to know when their life isn't worth living anymore, and stop their suffering. You'll grieve some, but get another one as soon as you're ready.
