Wash the shell before breaking the egg. There might be traces of bacteria on the shell that can get into the egg.

i would wash in and out of the shell. Wash the shell first so you do not touch the egg and get your fingers dirty from the shell. Then touch the egg. Did that make any sense?

Your not eating the shell.
You really can't wash them unless they are hard boiled. But even then nothing could have gotten into the egg to require washing.
No need to wash them.

You don't need to wash them; eggs are pre-washed properly at the farm because stupid people were washing them when they brought them home, and their eggs were spoiling in the fridge.

Chicken eggs are disinfected at the processing facility...I doubt anything lives for very long on them.
