Many people feel that the heavyweight division and its current champions are the weakest in a long time. But about ten years ago many people were saying the same things about the heavyweight champions of that time. So out of these three matchs of current and former lightly regarded champions, and in some cases possibly unfairly over critisised champions who wins?

1. Oleg Mastaev v Frank Bruno

2. Nikolay Valuev v Bruce Seldon

3. Wladimir Klitschko v Frans Botha

Oleg Maskaev versus Frank Bruno is probably the closest fight to call...I would favor the best Bruono in this fight over the best Oleg Maskaev.

Maskaev's best night or prime might have been the KO win over Hasim Rahman in 1999, the first time they fought. Bruno's best night was probably his title winning performance back in 1995 against Oliver McCall. That Bruno could have dealt with the power of even the best Oleg Maskaev as Bruono had trouble with the big punchers.

In the Valuev versus Bruce Seldon fight, I would take the 325-lb Nikolay Valuev everyday of the week. Seldon, the former WBA champ, was stopped by a missed punch by Mike Tyson in 1996 and would have a heck of a time getting to Valuev's body or chin to land anything. Valuev, the current WBA champ, right now would handle Seldon at his best as I don't see Valuev getting any better than he is now.

And then the third bout, Wladimir Klitschko stopped Frans Botha in 8-rounds back in 2002. It wasn't the 'best' Botha I have seen, but the result would be the same even in Botha's prime.

So in short, I got Bruono, Valuev and Klitschko.

1: Frank Bruno.
Bruno had pretty awesome stopping power and a good chin. If Corey Sanders managed to stop Maskaev, Bruno could too. But just barely. Oleg is a tough nut to crack.
2: Nikolai Valuev.
Valuev has gotten too much flak. Why? Because he's huge and not very technical. But if he's so unworthy, why hasn't he been defeated in 40+ matches? Maybe he's gotten too light competition, sure, but Seldon hasn't got the skills OR the power to sink the Russian.
3: Wladimir Klitschko.
Botha is just a goon with a strong chin and tons of spirit. And who's underrating Klitschko anyway? Good fighter. Besides, he's already met Botha. TKO in 8. Sorta proves my point, doesn't it? ;-)

Yes, I hear you, but that's what they said about fighters in the 1980's. Tony Tubbs, Tim Witherspoon, Greg Page, Trevor Berbick, Micheal Dokes. All talented men but inconsistent. The only true champion was Larry Holmes.

To answer the question I don't know who would win.

The first fight would be even because they are both good decent boxer punchers with modest skills.

Nikolay would win the second fight because Bruce Seldon courage can be questioned as evidenced in the Mike Tyson fight.

Haven't they fought before. I 'd go for Vladamir Klitschko he's a better boxer.

The winners would be Maskaev and Valuev. Klitschko knocked Botha out. Stopped him in eight.

The real winner is the people who don't fork over Pay Per View dollars to see any of them or anything that even resembles these match-ups.
