I just don't understand it, I get my seven to eight hours of sleep eveynite, I excercise, I eat well for the most part, yet I'm still so tired throughout the day and I feel drowsy. I've been feeling like this for quite awhile. Any ideas of what might be wrong?

You might need more sleep; you might be going to sleep/getting up at the wrong time; you might have mono; you might be depressed

Some people need nine or more hours of sleep.
If you want to calculate when you should be going to sleep do this:
A sleep cycle is 1 1/2 hours. Time yourself so that you are getting up at the end of a sleep cycle - if you do it properly you can even train yourself to wake up without an alarm clock. So if you need to get up at 8 a.m. be in bed, ready to sleep, at 11 pm. (plus 9 hours - six complete cycles).
You may have sleep apnea that interferes with your rest because you keep waking up after your throat collapses and you don't get air, while you sleep.

You should ask your family doc if he thinks you need to be tested for mono.

If you recently were stressed out by relationship changes etc. you may have a mild depression.

There are many reasons - as you can see - so put your thoughts together, enumerate the culprits and see if you can figure out who/what is responsible.

First, check and make sure that you aren't taking any medications with this as a side effect. Even some over the counter and herbal medicines can cause drowsiness.

If you aren't taking anything that could be causing problems, then you should go to your Doctor. There are a lot of medical conditions that fatigue can be a symptom of, so be prepared for a lot of questions and tests. But it could mean you have a serious problem, so the sooner the better you get checked out.

If you are not getting the REM you need when you sleep then unfortunately the sleep will not count. Do you toss and turn at night or have to lie there for a long time before sleep hits you?

Try vigerous excersize for an hour and then drinking warm milk before bed.Works like a charm and you will not be tired the next day because you will be to tired to keep yourself up !!!
