Seriously. I am sure these folks have good intentions, but when I say, "no thank you" I am not interested...they keep talking.. It has gotten to the point I wait for them to pass before I go out to my car. Why do they do this?

Because they are taught not to. Sort of like a car salesman. They think if they can keep you listening that you'll buy something.

Because they want to share Gods love with you, and show you the way, the truth, and the light. They don't want to think of people who might be unsaved going to Hell. I know that I would never want anyone to go to Hell, such a terrible, terrible place.
But on the other hand, if you already are a Christian, then just say so, and i'm sure they'll say God Bless you and be on their way.

You need to understand that these folks somehow belive that their trip to heaven is dependent on recruiting believers. It's idiotic in the extreme, but true. There are an awful lot of folks out there who believe things that have no basis in fact (or fiction, for that matter).

Next time ask them what part of NO did they not understand and then just walk right past them.
Do the same for those telemarketers on the phone.

The ones who come to my door leave peacefully. No reason to be hateful to them. I just tell the Mormons and the Jehova's Witnesses that I am comfortable in my faith and that I don't buy their beliefs. They leave.

Tell me about it. I am already religious and they STILL follow me around...I have decided that they just want attention and to be noticed. As a result ANY attention, even bad attention, is better than nothing. I wish they would "see the light"--that I don't want to know or care.

Because they don't believe that God can totally bring people to himself by how great he is. (i.e. answering prayers, demonstrating his love, physically healing people, divine revelation, etc....) He still does all these things but most american Christians don't believe he does and don't ask him for it.
