How long should I let it go without food or water to teach it a lesson. Its been 2 days so far...

I wish I knew where you lived becuase I would call animal control. What you are doing is considered animal abuse and negligence and you can be arrested for it.
please consider finding a GOOD home for your pet. The method of discipline you are using is INEFFECTIVE and abusive.
You should go to obedience classes so that YOU CAN BE TRAINED on appropriate ways to discipline your pet. But I think the dog is better off with a new owner. You don't deserve the honor of having a dog.

well the first thing you need to do is take the dog down to the local ASPCA, SPCA, or a dog rescue group and tell them that you are an abusive owner, and what you are doing. There is a way to TRAIN your dog to stop barking. But then if you were smart enough you would know this already. Well maybe someone should take away your food and water until you smarten up, but then you might starve, well what a pity that would be.
A dog is only as smart as its owner, so if your dog is stupid you have no one to blame but yourself.

Have you been withholding food and water for that, for 2 days??? You dog is dehydrating and is probably now barking because it needs attention and food. BTW is this an intact male? He could be barking and panting over a female in heat nearby. IF that's the case, have him neutered and it will help.

Please, don't leave it without food or water, it won't make it stop making noise. You just have to give it something interesting to play with - a toy, bone, food etc. Or u can take it out for a while.
Probably trere is some reason for the barking, your dog may saw something wrong happening around it or around you. After all it's the human's best friend and it cares for u. :))))

if you can not look after you dog give it to a good home.
how long would you last with out food or water.
don't ever get a pet again when you don't know how to look after it.
when you lived at home if you made to much noise were you starved and left with out water.
