Right - emmets.
This refers not just to the swarms of holidaymakers who amble at a snail's pace through Newquay, blocking the roads and pavements so that it takes me twice as long to do necessary shopping, but to 'incomers' such as myself. I live here but I'm still an emmet. Cornwall in general though - gorgeous at any time of year, I love it!

Right its Emetts is it, I can tunderstant uh werd as um sez donm cornall.
We calls um Grockles in Glosershire too'
They do ave funny names in Cornall, Looe, well tis a **** hole, and Piskys, I allus through a Pisky were a Picksy what bin on the scrump.

hehe emmets - i am not from cornwall but my good freind is contantly whinging cos the litter goes worse and traffic is bad when emmets in town

When I was in The Falklands in the 80's they called us Wennize. Because, they said we were always saying " When I was
(wennize).....in Aden,Cyprus,Borneo, Belize etc. after a few beers.

Yes it is emmets, it means ants because they swarm all summer, it is lovely down here now

i dint know, but in Hampshire (where i grew up) there called Grockles too.
