If we study the psyche and present it in the mainstream, will society see it as a hint to adapt.

It's a bit of a misnomer to talk about how "far" you can evolve. Evolution doesn't have a set goal in mind. If anything, it's a question of how "near" you can evolve: how close you can get to being perfectly suited to your ecological niche.

I haven't read the article yet, but I will. As for how far can we evolve mentally, it all depends on the environment. Species adapt to their environment. The only way to ensure that we would evolve further mental capabilities would be to do selective breeding and only allow the more intelligent to breed so that the genes for greater intelligence would become dominant in the gene pool. Most people seem opposed to that idea. As long as we coddle the inept there's no reason to expect forward momentum in the realm of intelligence. As for spirituality, that's all just made up by the mind anyway.

We do not evolve mentally, but there is no known limit to how far we can advance spiritually, short of become God. We have out limits on earth, but in heaven with a glorified body and soul we will begin the journey to our ultimate state, that of being Christ-like.

There are four levels of awareness. #1; IGNORANCE,a state of bliss, don't know about no god. #2: LAW,I live by the sweat of my brow, works, what i put out is what i get back,i'm a "sinner". #3; GRACE,I am saved and live by the Grace of a higher power. #4, GOD DWELLS WITHIN YOU AS YOU. A state of bliss, sees GOD in all things. IN the end we ALL merge back into the allness of GOD from whence we came.

The fact is that change is random with those traits found useless generally breed out and improvements breed in. but there is no straight line in evolution, many species of man have failed and gone extinct.
