It will be a situation like, we're in the car (him driving) and he'll start tickling me or playfully hitting my leg, which usually gets on my nerves after a while. Why doesn't he stop when I tell him to in all seriousness?

There are two basic issues here - Communication and Respect.

If you really want him to stop, you need to communicate your feelings to him in a way that he will understand. If you are just saying "Stop" (especially if you say it with a laugh while he is tickling you), he might not realize that you are really not enjoying his form of affection.

If, on the other hand, you tell him that you do not enjoy being tickled or you enjoy some tickling but he needs to learn to stop when you tell him to stop, he is more likely to respond positively to your request.

If he still needs more motivation to stop, tell him that he might not see it this way but when he tickles you or playfully hits your leg even after you tell him to stop, it is showing a lack of respect for you and your feelings and you are entitled to, and expect, respect from your boyfriend. If he still bothers you after that, he does not respect you and you are in the wrong relationship.

Good luck and all the best to you!

Love play That's how boys are and men too for that matter. He's just showing his love for you, guys like to play. Did he's playing always get on your nerves? Like little children when they know something bothers you they will do it just because. Try turning it around on him play with him as well and see how long it takes for him to stop. Don't let him know that it bothers you and he will stop.

Sounds like he is trying to get a reaction from you. If he keeps resorting to this it suggests that you have a communication problem. Are you talking, laughing together? Do you have a loving relationship?

Sounds like both of you are missing something. If you are hoping to take your relationship forward into a permanent one you need to talk to each other now!!!

He is just trying to show you that he cares. Take it as a compliment. I think that it is cute when my boyfriend does those cute little things. It does kind of get bothersome but just be open and let him know that too much is too much.

It's his way of being physically intimate with out doing something "inappropriate" in public. He's a touchy feely kinda guy, he likes to hold what he has while he still has it.

If it bothers you, tell him why. I'm not sure why it bothers you. He's showing he cares for you and likes to have fun with you. He probably doesn't know it bothers you, so even when you are serious, he has no idea why. First off, why does it bother you? and then talk to him.

It's called passive aggressive behavior. Rather than being outwardly angry or resentful or whatever, he keeps it inside, but does things that he knows irritate you so you will feel as angry as him.

Some men think they can claim some kind of ownership over your body.
