Depends on what physical shape you are in. I'd reccommend

1) Weight training (2-3 days of the week)
2) Intervel Cardio (4-5 days of the week)

Weight training adds muscle. Muscle increases your metabolism and you burn more fat during the entire day. Make sure you have rest days between workout days

Intervel cardio also elevates your metabolism for a longer period after your exercise is over. This is how it is done:

Go real slow (bike, jog or any cardio activity) for 30-45 sec
Go at near maximim for the next 30 - 45 sec.

This is guaranteed to bring great results. Do not try this for more than 15-20 minutes total

alternate between:

walking or running
swimming
yoga
body sculpt or "power" work with light weights

not matter how you put this all together make sure you're reaching your target heart rate during the walking/running and swimming for at least 30 minutes 3 to 4 days a week.

to find out your target heart rateis:
220 - your age x 65% for the lower end
220 - your age x 80% for the high end (this is only for those in super good shape like athletes)

here's an example... say you're 32
220 - 32 = 188
188 x 65% is 122
122 beats per minute for 35 minutes would be the perfect place to start.

good luck and good for your for choosing a healthier lifestyle and body

Weigth training. The more muscle you build, the more your metabolism speeds up. Just do not overtrain. Six hours a day six days a week will do nothing but damage you. Three to four times a week, no more then 90 minutes each will get you in shape and allow your muscles to recover. Plus, try eating several small meals a day, instead of three big ones. And eat less during the evening, your metabolism slows down later on in the day.
