I don't think it is. ***** spiritual refers to a particular genre of music, which arose primarily during the time of slavery. It was not only developed by ******/blacks - the then slaves of the era - but was used in or as a form of worship hence the use of the term "spiritual". The term "***** spiritual" therefore depicts the history and culture from which the genre sprung, as such it does not connote any racists sentiment when used.
By the way I'm black/***** and I'm not offended by it.

Who knows? The word ***** was perfectly acceptable up until recently. There was the United ***** College Fund, which is now just referred to as The College Fund in advertisements. Martin Luther King used the phrase in his "I Have A Dream" speech. But nowadays, it's considered in bad form to call blacks ******, and who really knows why. I guess black, or the clumsy hyphenated "African-American" are more acceptable, but I've never really heard an explanation for why "*****" has fallen out of favor.

It's a descriptive term. If you wanted to make sure you didn't offend anyone, you could just replace ***** with black.
