They are proving in the news how peaceful they are by being furious.

They're attacking an extreamist sect of Islam, something many of the people who've answered your question obviously know nothing about. The problem is that the media attacks Islam when the terrorists that they speak of and the sucicide bombers that they talk about aren't following the true teachings of the Qur'an.
Pick up the Qur'an, a good translation of it rather than a translastion written by a "Christian" author. I recommend the translation by Thomas Cleary. If you really look at it you will see that it teaches peace and love rather than hate and war as some people would like you to think that it does.
TRUE Islam is a religion of peace. The problem is that the people that we hear about on the media aren't following the true teachings of the religion, they're twisting the words of God to fit their own political agenda just as many Christian terrorist groups have done in the past.
In any religion, you can find examples of "anger" "war" "wrath" ect....I would say it's not the world that attacks Islam, but the media that attacks the religion to fit their own political agenda. It's easy to hate a culture that you have no concept of...I think that's why so many people are hateful on this site, they're completely ignorant to what the religion really teaches.
If you want to find the truth, don't listen to anyone else, find it out for yourself.
I'm not a Muslim either.
I'm just sick and tired of hearing all of these ignorant morons attacking something they have no idea about.

Because a handful of people decided to take the violent parts of the Koran and use them out of context to kill others. The same thing has been done by Christian groups to bomb abortion clinics with people still inside or to set fire to black churches.
You cannot blame an entire culture or faith on the actions of some. If you do, all Americans must be like Timothy McVeigh, all Germans are these Jewish murderers, and the Macedonians think the world is theirs for the taking a la Alexander the Great.

Islam is as much a religion of peace as is Christianity and Judaism. That is, there are a few extremists in each bunch that take their interpretations of their religion as justification for their actions.
Personally I think all religion is a bunch of crap, only we don't need to single out Islam when Christian fundamentalists have more effect on US laws and policies. It's a political magic trick: focus on the horrors going on somewhere else so you don't see when something disappears righ in front of you.

The world isn't attacking Islam. Part of the problem is that Muslims imagine the world is. The other part is the peace loving Muslim suicide bombers.

WTF are you high? Was their reaction to the pope's dumb idea to read from another pope's notes about how islam is spread by the sword, a peaceful one? Uhhhhhh, NO! The idiots just made the pope more right than he was before he opened his ancient mouth. I don't know who is dumber, the pope for stirring them up, or the muslims for proveing him right.
If they were all that peaceful, they'd write the pope a formal letter of displeasure over his "verbal attack" instead of answering with what??????? VIOLENCE as f-ing usual.

I think all religions are equally stupid, so keep that I'm not hating any religion more than another......
Islam says that if a person wants to convert from Islam to something else, you must kill him (or her). Tell me, how is that peace?

the fact is they really does'nt know and understand each other well
they'condemn each other to hell for not being like them
they criticized each other books for being a fake and misleading
they protect their own brotherhood though they believe all man are brothers
the fact is
we all fail to see that ALL religions are from ONE god and
ONE world is for ALL mankind called human to rightfully live in
but the true fact is they're
ALL like little children fighting for ONE little sweet
let'us just not be like them

It is NOT a religion of peace. Read the Quran some time. I have, and it's rather a bit more violent than the old testament/Torah.
